Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Esimra eSIM plans.
General
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan without a physical SIM card. It's built into most modern smartphones and can be activated by scanning a QR code.
Most iPhones from iPhone XS (2018) and later support eSIM. For Android, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Google Pixel 3+, and most flagship devices from 2020 onwards are compatible. Check your device settings for 'Add eSIM' or 'Add Cellular Plan' option.
Yes! Most modern phones support Dual SIM — your physical SIM stays active for calls/texts from your home number while the eSIM provides data in your travel destination.
We currently offer eSIM plans for 180+ countries across Europe, Asia, Americas, Middle East, Africa, and Oceania. Browse our full catalog on the Destinations page.
Purchase & Payment
Select your destination, choose a data plan, enter your email, and pay securely via Stripe. You'll receive your QR code instantly — no shipping, no waiting.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported.
No account is required. You can purchase as a guest using just your email address. Creating an account lets you manage orders and track usage.
If your eSIM hasn't been activated yet (QR code not scanned), you can request a full refund. Once the eSIM is activated, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact our support team.
Installation & Usage
After purchase, scan the QR code we provide using your phone's camera or go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM. Follow the on-screen prompts. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.
Your plan starts when you first connect to a network in your destination country, not when you scan the QR code. You can install the eSIM before your trip.
Most of our plans are data-only. Some plans include calls and SMS — check the plan details before purchasing. You can always use apps like WhatsApp or Telegram for calls over data.
When your data allowance is used up, the eSIM will stop providing data. You can purchase a new plan. Your physical SIM remains unaffected.
Currently, you can purchase a new plan when your current one expires. We're working on in-app top-up functionality.
Troubleshooting
1) Make sure you're in a covered area. 2) Toggle airplane mode on and off. 3) Go to Settings → Cellular and make sure the eSIM line is enabled for data. 4) Restart your device. If issues persist, contact support.
Yes! Visit your order page using the link in your confirmation email, or contact support with your order ID. We can resend the QR code to your email.
eSIMs are tied to the device they're installed on and generally cannot be transferred. You'll need to purchase a new plan for a different device.
